13. See the Lights
Bundle up (maybe even in your PJs!) and hop in a vehicle to go on a Christmas Eve “light drive” around your neighborhood. Afterward, enjoy hot chocolate as a family. (Bonus points if you have a fireplace!)
14. Invite Friends Over
Host a “Christmas Misfits” party, or come up with a different name for the gathering. Invite people who don’t have family nearby, and share your Christmas Eve traditions with them.
15. Go on a Scavenger Hunt
This fun tradition, complete with Christmas-themed clues, will help children burn off some energy before they hit the sack on Christmas Eve.
16. Sleep by the Tree
Enjoy a slumber party beneath the Christmas tree. Or set up children’s sleeping bags so they can sleep there. After all, parents need their rest for the big day!
