Take a children’s ministry field trip and invite local families to participate. Options include local museums, historical sites, hiking trails, and more.

When weather permits, play fun outdoors games with kids and parents. In the summer, water games are awesome for cooling down.
9. Dessert Swap
Ask families to bake or buy a favorite dessert and bring it to the event to share. As a twist on this idea, families can bring a dessert that represents their culture or heritage. Then people can share a bit about their family background.
10. Talent Show
Finally, encourage families to show off their special gifts with a lighthearted talent show. Musical siblings can give short performances. Maybe a mom is a pro at juggling? Fathers can try their hand at stand-up comedy and share their best dad jokes.
