Welcome to Day 3 of what has become a very interesting discussion. We are taking an extended look at Dr. Timothy Paul Jones’ New Book “Family Ministry Field Guide.” Here at CM Buzz we are also giving away three copies of the book (details on how you can WIN are below). So far we have just briefly touched on two sections of the the book:
Foundation 1 – Map the Gap and Foundation 2 – Rethink Your Goal
Today we’ll begin looking at Foundation 3 – Frame Your Ministry in God’s Story Line. Sometimes I think we can forget that it is God’s Story that is the KEY and that He loves families more than we can comprehend!

God’s Story Line – Creation…Fall…Redemption…Consummation!
In this section of the book Dr. Jones begins to expound on the idea of the WHY of Family Ministry. What is the proper motivation for even attempting to do Family Ministry? If our goal is meeting children’s needs and getting them to behave better it will never be enough. Dr. Jones builds an incredible case for taking a different look, that is packed with scriptural references, at the WHY? which in turn is going to drive the HOW!
