Just Do SOMETHING

Are you growing yourself personally? Are you doing the things necessary to transform yourself into a strong & healthy leader? We talk often about that sort of question here on this blog because I believe if you’re not growing personally, you’re not growing your ministry.

You cannot pass on to others what you do not possess yourself.

So what’s your plan for personal growth?

Reading? Mentoring? Conferences? Blogs? Networking?

The possibilities are almost endless and, frankly, can be overwhelming. Not really knowing how to proceed – or how to access resources – can be paralyzing.

So here’s what I’ve found the key is – just do something.

Just start the process of growth.

  • Have a conversation with a veteran KidMin leader (you’d be surprised how far a free cup of coffee can go with us!).
  • Commit to reading three blog posts everyday (setting up a Google reader is super easy so you don’t have to bounce all over the internet). Need to know some good KidMin blogs – check these out.)
  • Join a local children’s ministry network (you might have to ask around to find one in your community).
  • Read just one chapter a day (everyone has time to do that…you’ll get through 25 books this year by doing so! Need some ideas to get started…go here).

There are some other ways to grow yourself. But the point again is this: just do something. Everyday.

Leadership is not developed in a day…it is developed daily.

What are you doing to grow yourself?
