10 Ways To Show Love To Kids

1. Know their name…it’s been said that a person’s name is the most important word to them.

2. Listen to them…really listen to them. You can learn a lot if you listen intentionally.

3. Get down on their level – in everything from the language you use to your physical position when you speak to them one on one.

4. Take time to teach well. This means putting the time and effort in to make your teaching age appropriate & engaging.

5. Speak well of them with their parents.

6. Pray for them.

Prayer does not equip us for the greater work . . . prayer is the greater work.” Oswald Chambers

7. Pray with them.

8. Share Jesus with them. Not just in telling them the Gospel, but in everything you do – let them see Jesus in you.

9. Get to know them for more than just the kids in your class. This might (probably will) mean reaching beyond the walls of the church and connecting with them in their everyday lives. It also involves connecting personally with their parents.

10. See them as a 10. In other words, assume the best – don’t make pre-judgments about them, and don’t allow their actions to define your opinion of them in negative terms. After all, a) they are kids and b) there are probably reasons they are acting the way they are acting.
