Goliath is hosting an open house this week! You remember King David’s nemesis? Goliath was known for his size, height and his rational fear of flying rocks.
Come see the remains of the city gate to Gath, the ancient city of the Philistines (you’ll recognize the Philistines as the “peas” in VeggieTales.
Israeli archaeologists at Bar-Ilan University are excavating this biblical city located in the Judean foothills. Lead archaeologist, Professor Aren Maeir, said “the gate is among the largest ever found in Israel and provides substantial evidence that Gath was once one of the most influential cities in the region.”
