Morning Devotion—His Love Covers All

“Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers over all wrongs.”
Proverbs 10:12

On a mission trip a few years ago in East Asia, we didn’t go to build a house or complete a project or do trainings, we went to build people and to build love. We worked with survivors of trafficking and our mission was to love.

We are all in the business of being and building love. No matter what we do, whether halfway across the world or in our neighborhood, we are actively working on a mission field of love.

His love covers over all wrongs so we don’t have to carry all weight.

Christ came to set us free to a full life of love and light in Him and to share that life with others. We each have a crucial role to play in the building of love in whatever mission field is ours right now – whether it’s raising a family, volunteer work, ministry or business. Love is our ultimate legacy.

We all carry a weight – words from the past haunt us, burdens and stress pull on our hearts, and responsibilities threaten to overwhelm. We carry our cross and die to our selfish nature, but we aren’t meant to carry the weight. Be free today, dear heart.

He came for life. Cling to His truth. His love covers over all wrongs so we don’t have to carry all weight.

In the mission field of love, we must be chief reminders of God’s love. We remind his children who He is and who we are in Him with our words, actions and prayers.

Be encouraged today and shuck off the weight. Embrace the adventure of freedom as beloved sons and daughters of the Most High God.

His love covers over all so we don’t have to carry all.

May this be your promise and blessing and trajectory for today and always:

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!
Romans 8:15-17 (MSG)

When you look at your work do you see the project or the person?

Is there weight you carry that He could cover and take instead?

What will your legacy of love look like?
