Update: Pastor Saeed’s Wife, Naghmeh, Tells the Kids “Daddy’s Coming Home!”

Pastor Saeed was formerly a Muslim and came to know Christ in Tehran. He planted many house churches in Iran before moving to the U.S. with his wife, Naghmeh.

In 2012, he returned to Iran to visit his family and build an orphanage, which had the government’s approval. In September of that year, his family’s home was raided and he was taken captive by the Revolutionary Guard. His family finally found out, four days later, that he was “in solitary confinement in the notorious Evin prison.”

Just this week, in a prisoner exchange between the U.S. and Iran, Pastor Saeed along with a marine, a journalist and two others were released. They are currently in Germany receiving medical attention before flying home to the U.S. to their families. Naghmeh is preparing to fly to Germany to reunite with her husband.

Naghmeh said she “could not stop her tears from flowing” at this good news. She woke up her kids and said, “Daddy is coming home!”

She has been tirelessly lobbying for his release from prison.
