In the midst of brightly colored Easter eggs, foil wrapped candy and kids with the Easter bunny, Chris Pratt shared something different.
On his Instagram feed, Pratt shared a series of photos showing him and a few friends digging a hole and raising a huge cross in a field.
This isn’t the first time Pratt, who is currently filming Guardians of the Galaxy 2, has shared his faith with his fans. He’s posted Scripture when a young friend from his #FearIsntReal campaign passed away, sharing Psalm 34:18 and asking fans to pray for the family. He doesn’t shy away from sharing verses and thoughts about the Lord in interviews either.
Both he and his wife Anna Faris talk about how their faith brought them through the premature birth and surgeries. He told People magazine that it restored his faith in God.
“..Not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it. The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect.”
While not perfect, Pratt is earnest in sharing his faith and not ashamed. And at a time where Christians are experiencing intense persecution around the world, Pratt’s bold declaration at Easter is a hopeful symbol for our faith.
