No Religious Exemptions—Raiders Will Now Require COVID-19 Shots for Fans

But Pasquale Buonsante, also a season ticket holder, is disappointed and wishes the team would allow proof of negative COVID tests instead. “Not being vaccinated is a choice,” he says. “I don’t see why the government and the Raiders need to get into” shot mandates. For now, Buonsante plans to sell his tickets rather than get the jab. “If you can get COVID-19 while being vaccinated, what’s the point?” he says.

Under NFL guidelines, all team staff and personnel must be vaccinated. Players aren’t required to receive COVID shots, due to a collective bargaining agreement with the players’ union. But teams are offering incentives for players to get vaccinated. This week, the Atlanta Falcons became the first team to have all players fully vaccinated.
