Pastor of New Church in Florida Arrested During Trafficking Sting

Victim Advocate Praises the County’s Work

Connie Rose, a trafficking survivor who founded the Tampa-based nonprofit Victims2Survivors, praises the “absolutely phenomenal” efforts of Sheriff Chronister, saying his office is sending “this incredible message” that you “don’t buy [sex] in Tampa.”

With this particular sting, Rose says, “What really took me back…is that there was a teacher and a pastor. And that these are people that our children look up to.”

The four adults and one minor rescued during Operation Round-Up have been referred to Selah Freedom, a nonprofit anti-trafficking organization that serves and supports survivors. The key thing, Rose adds, is that survivors now have opportunities to live freely. “They’re not out being trafficked, being sold, or rented out anymore.”
