Amos cited his strong religious beliefs about safeguarding his family against COVID-19 as the reason for the request. Upon denying the request, Ramsey reportedly called it a “weakness of spirit.” Amos also claims that employees were encouraged to pray in lieu of taking the recommended precautions against COVID-19

Ramsey Solutions is currently involved in three other lawsuits, including one in which the complainant claims she was forced to quit for being gay, another where a woman was fired for becoming pregnant out of wedlock, and a dispute with Marriott resulting from the financial loss incurred when Ramsey abruptly changed the location of a conference due to Marriott’s mask policy.

In April 2021, Inc. Magazine removed Ramsey Solutions from its list of “Best Workplaces.”
