For example, Lindsay has been promoted by Tom Ascol of the SBC affiliated Founders Ministries, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary President Al Mohler, and Michael O’Fallon of Sovereign Nations.
On Monday, O’Fallon tweeted a link to Lindsay’s podcast, saying, “This episode of @ConceptualJames‘ New Discourses Podcast is a must-listen if you are in the SBC or in broader Reformed Christianity.”
Nevertheless, there are some evangelicals who feel squeamish about aligning themselves with Lindsay or following his suggestion to purge the SBC of anyone who won’t unequivocally denounce the use of CRT in any setting.
“Mike O’Fallon [is] out here doing everything he can to let an atheist destroy the Southern Baptist Convention over Resolution 9,” said author and podcaster Marty Duren. “O’Fallon causes his church not to be in friendly cooperation with the SBC.”
“Thanks, but Christians shouldn’t look to Atheists for guidance on the interpretation of Scripture or the role it should play in guiding our institutions,” said another person. “You encouraging people to look to an Atheist for insight is exactly what happens when power/politics are the god you worship.”
