On its website, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) offers numerous ways that Christians can aid and advocate for Ukrainians. It also provides a downloadable prayer guide for the crisis and those affected.

World Vision International is requesting donations for its work in Eastern Europe, where team members are “on the ground…preparing to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families who have been forcibly displaced.” Its website states, “Vulnerable women and children will bear the brunt of this crisis.”

That dire prediction is echoed by the International Rescue Committee, which notes, “Women and children fleeing Ukraine are at grave risk.” It warns, “The vast majority of the over 1.7 million refugees that have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion are women and children. In crisis settings, women and girls face particular and disproportionate risks, including from violence, exploitation and abuse.”
