Notorious Superstar Wrestler Gets Emotional Sharing How His Wife Helped Restore His Relationship With Jesus

“I think the greatest thing that you’ve ever done for me, though, is restore my relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said.

Recalling the first time his wife asked him to go to church, The Undertaker told her, “Babe, I’m going to walk into church and the rafters are going to start shaking and lightening bolts are going to start flying at me.” McCool told him, “Don’t be stupid.” But Calaway joked that she made him sit on the other side of the church, just in case.

“Thank you for seeing passed my long hair, my tattoos, and my iffy reputation and being my wife,” Calaway said as he stared at McCool and his daughter. “I love you with all of my heart. You are my soulmate.”

A more in-depth testimony from Calaway can be heard in an interview with the Fellowship Church’s founder and senior pastor, Ed Young, during 2019’s C3 Christian Conference.

Growing up Catholic, Calaway explained to Young that he believed in God, but “I just didn’t lead my life that way.” The professional wrestler chose to live what he called a “pretty excessive lifestyle” and shared that he “wasn’t living my life for God.”

It was after accepting his wife’s plea to attend church that Calaway shared he began his journey back to Jesus. Michelle is the “one that put me in the right place for me to get my life back on track again to what really matters,” he told Young. “I’m forever indebted [to her] just for that.”

At the conclusion of his interview, Young told Calaway he wanted to pray for him and his family. The Undertaker replied to Young saying, “It’s funny that you bring that up,” and shared that his wife said she wouldn’t forgive him if he didn’t ask a room full of 2,500 pastors to pray for their family.
