Jurkovich told ChurchLeaders that First Bossier “is very thankful for the Judge’s ruling dismissing this claim against First Baptist Bossier. Our church is 100% committed to seeing lives changed in the power of Jesus. We believe God will see us through any remaining challenges.”
The lawsuit involving the handling of First Bossier’s financial decision-making and transparency procedures is still ongoing.
Jurkovich remains active within the Conservative Baptist Network, emceeing an event for the group at the annual meeting of the SBC in Anaheim, California, earlier this month.
The event, which played host to Southern California pastor John MacArthur and included a panel discussion with CBN endorsed candidates for the offices of SBC president, SBC recording secretary, and president of the SBC Pastors’ Conference, was part of a coordinated effort to gain widespread support throughout the SBC for the CBN’s cause of fighting “liberal drift.” However, those plans did not come to pass as none of the CBN endorsed candidates were elected.
