Bethel Church Selling ‘Declarations Clicker’ To Tally Daily Prayers

Igniting Hope Ministries emphasizes using the Declarations Clicker to correct intrusive thoughts, saying, “One way to get the most out of your declarations clicker is to seek the Lord to identify specific lies you’re believing in key areas of life like finances, your future, identity, relationships, etc. and declaring biblical truth until your mind is renewed in those areas.”

Bethel and the New Apostolic Reformation

Bethel, known best for their popular worship music, is part of the New Apostolic Reformation movement, an evangelical group seeking to take over the “seven mountains of culture” to bring about the return of Christ. Those mountains are family, religion, education, media, entertainment, business, and government.

Bethel has often been the subject of criticism within evangelical circles for their beliefs and practices, including accusations that the church practices “grave sucking” and rejects modern medicine. The veracity of those accusations has been challenged by sources close to the church, but the rumors nevertheless continue to circulate.

Bethel Church’s belief in the power of declarative prayer was tragically put to the test in 2019, when Bethel worship leader Kalley Heiligenthal’s 2-year-old daughter, Olive, passed away. Heiligenthal called on Christians to pray for Olive’s resurrection. Many people connected to Bethel supported Heiligenthal and committed to praying for resurrection, sparking the social media hashtag #WakeUpOlive.

“Thank you for your faith-filled declarations, keep them coming,” Heiligenthal said in an Instagram post at the time. “Worship Jesus with us, He is moving, He is good, He is worthy and He is alive.”

After a week of fervent prayer, Bethel chose to accept that Olive was not coming back.

“Here is where we are: Olive hasn’t been raised. The breakthrough we have sought hasn’t come,” Bethel said in a Facebook post. “And so, we are moving towards a memorial service and celebration of her life.”

“As we have gone through this difficult time, we are grateful to see that faith, hope, and love have been the response. The Lord wastes nothing,” the church went on to say. “Believers know that heaven is full of homecomings, reunions, celebration, worship, and joy. He is good, all the time.”
