Bethel Church’s Senior Leader Beni Johnson, Wife of Bill Johnson, Dies at 67

A message for the prayer event, posted to Bethel’s website, said, “Beni Johnson is a mother to this house, and has been for over 25 years. She has led the charge in a passionate pursuit of prayer for our movement, and has taught us to intercede with joy and confidence. She has led both from the front and behind the scenes. She has consistently made herself known in the spirit as a warrior, a fighter, and a woman of love and truth. For decades, she has contended for us, and for the global Church, in prayer. So much of who we are today as a house and a movement is because of her.”

The non-denominational Bethel Church is known for their focus on the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, as well as their Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, which according to their website is “designed to be a ministry training center where our students embrace their royal identity, learn the values of the Kingdom and walk in the authority and power of the King. It is a transformational experience and your life will be forever impacted!”

Former Bethel Worship Leader Sean Feucht Remembers Beni

One of Bethel Church’s former worship leaders, author, activist, and musician Sean Feucht shared a photo with ChurchLeaders from when he and his family moved from Pennsylvania to Redding, California, in 2016. The photo depicts Beni bringing Feucht a gift basket.

“We were brand new in town and didn’t know many people,” Feucht said. “She felt like we needed to move and become part of the community there to raise our family in an environment that could encourage us and be a covering in this wild season of acceleration and momentum for us. The day I landed in Redding she arrived with a gift basket full of organic stuff that she loves 😊. She encouraged us to charge into the darkest nations and to even run for Congress. She was a happy intercessor, a lover of people, and a friend that would always have your back. There was no one like Beni Johnson.”
