Venue Church Pastor Tavner Smith Denies Church Is Facing Foreclosure, Shutting Down After Ongoing Scandal

The Chattanooga Times reported Monday that Venue Church is now facing foreclosure and that the church’s Chattanooga building will go up for auction on Aug. 24. A notice of foreclosure and sale states the church has defaulted on payments it owes First Citizens National Bank.

In the Instagram video, Smith told viewers to invite friends and show up this Sunday to the 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. services at Venue’s Chattanooga campus. “I’m going to set the record straight,” he said. “It’s going to be a great day and I can’t wait to see you because guess what? The best is yet to come for Venue Church. It ain’t over. We’re just getting started.”

ChurchLeaders has reached out to Venue Church for comment and will update this article in the event of a reply.
