Mississippi Minister Admits to Killing Man Missing Since 2019, Says He Found Faith After Fatal Altercation

“It’s been three years and they want to play this row of ‘he’s reformed,’ but if he was so reformed he would have remorse for what he did,” she said. “He looked me in my eye and told me he killed my dad…He didn’t say he was sorry. He just said that he hoped one day I could find it in my heart to forgive him, but he never even said he was sorry.”

BreAnn further noted that she had heard Crisp laughing with a jail guard prior to meeting with him, but Crisp allegedly displayed no emotion when he spoke with her.

On the other hand, several people on the ministry team at God’s House of Hope testified to Crisp’s faith and character at his bond hearing.

Amy Coyle of God’s House of Hope told WCBI, “We know God is a just God and He forgives, but we also have to take action for our responsibilities. But today we ask that God has mercy, and whatever steps we need to take for Eric to walk through this.”

Crisp had recently regained custody of his two children.

Sheriff Crook said of the case, “As a believer, I hate it for the guy. In the physical realm, he has to deal with choices he made. But on the spiritual side, you are excited for the freedom he has found in doing this. And then you hope there’s healing for the family through this process as well.”

Crisp has been charged with one count of manslaughter and is being held on a $150,000 bond in the Monroe County Jail. Taylor’s remains have not been located, and police have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests.
