Other groups and leaders have issued warnings about “Little Demon.” The conservative Christian group One Million Moms launched an online petition urging Disney to cancel the cartoon, which it says “makes light of hell and the dangers of the demonic realm.” As of September 12, more than 44,000 people have signed the petition.
On Facebook, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) describes seeing a trailer for “Little Demons” during a recent college football game. “I couldn’t get to the remote fast enough to shield my 11-year-old from the preview, and I wonder how many other children were exposed to it,” he writes. “Please be careful. Our job as parents is to guard the hearts and minds of our kids. This culture has become alarmingly dark and desensitized and this is not a game. Disney and [FXX] have decided to embrace and market what is clearly evil. STAY FAR FROM IT.”
The congressman closes with 1 Peter 5:8, which urges Christians to be vigilant because Satan prowls like a “roaring lion,” seeking to devour us.
