Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown also uses social media to share his faith. On Twitter last month, he posted a clip of him kneeling on the field, writing: “No better feeling when I put my armor of God on. Confidence come from the man…above! I fear nothing.”
During a July press conference, Brown said he plays for God, who keeps him grounded. “I don’t play for expectations of man,” he told reporters. “I play this game because God has given me the ability to play this game, and doing my best is giving my due diligence back to him.”
In his rookie season with Tennessee, Brown explained why he wears eye-black in the shape of a cross: “When I step out on the field, I want to say thank you [to God] for the blessing, for everything, because I don’t have to do this. I get to do this.”
