In a statement posted to Facebook, Vandalia Presbyterian Church explained that while they could not guarantee fresh meats this week, the pantry would be open.

“We may not have the meat choices that our clients are accustomed to having, but we will not let this theft close us down! We are working to come up with additional meat, but we still have the canned goods which includes canned chicken,” the church said.

“It would be wonderful to have some extra donations,” said Gardner.
