ESPN Analyst Dan Orlovsky Prays for Damar Hamlin on Live TV—‘Maybe This Is Not the Right Thing To Do, but I Want To’

Both Spears and Rutledge followed Orlovsky’s heartfelt prayer by saying, “Amen.” Rutledge told Orlovsky that his prayer was beautiful, to which Spears agreed by, saying, “respectfully.”

Orlovsky isn’t ashamed to talk about his faith. In his Twitter bio, he describes himself as a “follower of Jesus.” He can also be seen wearing a Proverbs 3:5-6 wristband, which reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Following Orlovsky’s prayer, Denny Burke, Boyce College Professor of Biblical Studies and Director of The Center for Gospel and Culture, tweeted, “I have never seen anything like this before. Dan Orlovsky just prayed for Damar Hamlin live on @ESPN moments ago.”

Burked followed his comment with Psalm 90:12: “So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.”

Hamlin remains in critical condition at Cincinnati University Hospital.
