Dawson Knox, Hamlin’s teammate who posted that prayer “is real, and it’s powerful. Constantly praying for Damar and his family” on the night of Hamlin’s injury, posted Saturday night, “Never underestimate the power of prayer!!!”
During Sunday’s win over the New England Patriots, the Bills’ Nyheim Hines returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown—the first time a Bills player has done so in three years and three months, a significant number to the team. Hamlin’s jersey number is 3.
After the game, an emotional quarterback Josh Allen told reporters that he was going around to his teammates after Hines’ touchdown proclaiming that “God’s real!” Allen explained that “you can’t draw [or] write that one up any better.”
Hamlin was transported to a hospital in Buffalo on Monday (Jan. 9) where tests will be conducted before he is released to return home.
“Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love on my heart,” Hamlin tweeted. “Watching the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling. The same love you all have shown me is the same love that I plan to put back into the world n more. Bigger than football!”
“God’s real. You can’t draw that one up any better.”
