Church Leaders has written about the Eagles quarterback, who says his family taught him “all my spiritual wisdom.” During an interview last September, Hurts explained how he’s “realized that God is everything and he’s worthy of praise.” He added, “You have to put [God] at the center of everything that you do.”

Hurts also has been vocal about trusting in God’s plans. “I know everything will unfold according to God’s timing,” he wrote in 2019, after transferring colleges. “I am blessed to be where my feet are. My trust is in [God’s] hands.”

Super Bowl LVII takes place on Sunday, February 12, in Glendale, Arizona. The game airs on Fox at 6:30 p.m. ET.
