Teen Charged With First-Degree Murder of Memphis Pastor Released on Bond

On Jan. 20, a judge ruled that Andrade would be tried as an adult. ABC24 reports that Andrade’s bond is “under strict stipulations: GPS monitoring to school, home, and court only, alcohol and drug counseling, and a daily report on drug screening.” At the time of his alleged crime against Eason-Williams, Andrade was out on bail for another carjacking and was wearing an ankle monitor.

Family members have disagreed over whether or not the teens charged with Eason-Williams’ murder should be tried as adults. The pastor’s husband, Darrell Eason-Williams, said in July that he wants the boys in prison and off the streets. “You didn’t just take her car, you shot her numerous times, pulled her out, and left her for dead,” he said. “That ain’t no regular crime.”

But Ayanna Hampton disagrees. “If I were to say ‘throw those children under the jail, charge them as adults, give them the death penalty, send them to jail forever, I would not have learned anything from my mother in 31 years,” she said. “I have to believe in God’s absolute ability to redeem any person.”
