Ciara’s Oscars After-Party Attire Dismays Christian Fans
Some people, however, saw a decision Ciara made over the weekend as undermining her Christian testimony. The singer drew criticism from followers on Instagram for attending an Oscars after-party last weekend in an outfit that left her almost entirely naked. She posted a video of herself in the outfit on Instagram, and while some cheered her, others expressed disappointment.
“If we use our platforms to profess Jesus is king, then we also need to walk the talk,” said one, citing 1 Timothy 2:9.
“How can you and your religious husband go preach the word of God one minute to prisioners [sic] and then in the next breath, go out almost completely naked?” asked another. “I’m not jealous…She has a banging body and YES, I’d love to have it but…. Come on! I wish women would realize how sexy they are WITH clothes on.”
Still others commented expressing their dismay. “Disappointed I thought you were growing in Christ, this is a big disappointment,” one person said, while another remarked, “I think the comments that disagree is coming from a place of disappointment because we think way more of her.”
