Konzelman said that he believes that many Christians don’t believe in demons because pastors water down their messages.
“You know, there was a time probably in Christianity where we didn’t believe enough in grace and mercy, and we were maybe a little too legalistic. I think the pendulum has swung a little too far right now, and it’s sort of like everything is okay,” Konzelman said. “It’s all about love. And there’s no adversary out there working to take you down, and there is no hell.”

Solomon expressed his belief that American Christians are too comfortable, saying, “The problem is, that’s exactly what the devil wants. He doesn’t want you to believe in him. But if you look at the world right now, I don’t think the devil is hiding anymore.”
“I think the devil has stepped out and said, ‘I’m gonna get busy, and now I’m going to destroy. I’m going to destroy the human race and you’re going to stand by because you’re too fat, dumb, and lazy,” Solomon said, quoting a line delivered by Flannery’s character in the movie.
