Showing ‘The Chosen’ in Prisons Is a Group Effort — With Several Partnerships
This project reaches viewers as well as a number of logistic and funding partners—in order to take the message of Jesus to those incarcerated.
Floodlight, the closed-circuit streaming service through Prison Fellowship, also works with Alpha, Celebrate Recovery, the Global Leadership Summit, and Courage for Life to provide affirming content and recordings from athletes and musicians that are added to the service monthly.
The creators of “The Chosen” have partnered with individual and corporate sponsorships to fund the project. “Season 1 was the #1 highest crowd-funded entertainment project of all-time, raising $10 million from over 19,000 people,” according to the series’ website.
As the reach of the multi-season show grew, so did its budget. The Come and See Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was created to “accelerate the global growth of the ground-breaking series, ‘The Chosen,’ enabling the show to be viewed by 1 billion people worldwide to experience ‘The Chosen’ in their own, heart language.” The foundation strategically maximizes funding to support production, translation, and distribution to hundreds of countries around the world.
The series isn’t done securing partnerships. Warnock also shared, “With Come and See Foundation as our new financial partner, and a major worldwide distribution partner to be announced soon in the mix, ‘The Chosen’ is set to make significant strides in getting the show to 1 billion people.”
CEO of the Come and See Foundation, Stan Jantz, shared, “We pray that those who are captive will find hope and healing through Jesus as they watch ‘The Chosen.'”
