NBA guard Jamal Murray received the trophy for Best Comeback Athlete. The Denver Nuggets guard tore an ACL in April 2021, missing an entire season. This year, Murray was instrumental in helping the Nuggets win their first NBA championship in the franchise’s 47-year history.
Murray began his acceptance speech by saying, “I want to thank God, the man above, for giving me the strength to endure the long journey back.” He also thanked teammates for giving him confidence and fans for believing in him.
