One fan said, “I love the song ‘I thank God’ and I loved you ever since but bruh I cannot accept this as a song that’s for God.”
“Brother Dante, Pastor wants to see you in his office urgently,” another fan warned.
Another pleaded, “Come back to Jesus my friend. You have such a powerful calling.”
“When someone you KNOW is acting outside of their consistent character…it is time to pray, not criticize,” a fan commented.
Not the First Time Dante Bowe’s Behavior Has Been Questioned
It’s been just six years since Bowe’s first released single, “Potter and Friend.” In the few years since, the talented singer and songwriter’s career has skyrocketed. He spent time with Bethel Music, Elevation Worship, and Maverick City Music.
In September 2022, Maverick City Music released a statement pausing the touring relationship with Dante Bowe. The group said that “due to behavior that is inconsistent with our core values and beliefs, we have decided to put a pause on our professional relationship with Dante Bowe.”
“Decisions like these are not easy because of the level of nuance, both professionally and personally, but we felt it necessary to address,” the statement went on to say.
Bowe soon apologized for his behavior on tour with Maverick City Music.
“I sincerely apologize for the impact of my behavior and that it has offended many people on the platform we share together,” Bowe said. “This experience has been a very real reminder of the importance of being incredibly intentional with how I utilize and engage with the tools social platforms provide.”
He continued, “Throughout this process, I have received wise counsel which influenced my decision to take a step back and reflect about my actions so that I may recommit to living in the purpose God has for my life.”
Unfortunately, Bowe’s behavior has become inconsistent with the lyrics of his worship songs. Around the same time as his split with Maverick City Music, Bowe posted a nude Instagram video of himself, as well as a video of friends singing and dancing on a party bus.
Several months later, fans questioned his choice of provocative shirt, which depicted parts of a man’s groin. Bowe wore the shirt in a photo posted to Instagram.
