Bryce Young
In April, the Carolina Panthers selected Alabama QB Bryce Young with their number-one draft pick. Before even taking a regular-season snap, the 22-year-old is a favorite to be named Offensive Rookie of the Year. Under head coach Frank Reich, another outspoken Christian, Young will have the opportunity to model his faith on the big stage.
Belief in Jesus “goes to my roots,” the quarterback said on a Sports Spectrum podcast last year. “I’m blessed to have the family that I do that introduced me [to faith] when I was young. Throughout my life, my relationship has grown with the Lord and my faith has improved. Through that, I work to be the best version of myself that I can be and to embody Christ in all that I do.”
When Young won the Heisman Trophy in December 2021, he posted: “God is great! Truly grateful for everyone who made this possible and for all the support I’ve received. All glory to God!”
