Beth Moore’s Journey in Ministry

According to LPM’s website, Moore grew up in Arkansas, and later Texas, with “a retired Army major and a homemaker” as parents.

Moore was just 18 years old when she first felt God’s call to ministry. She had no idea what she was agreeing to, but “she made it her goal to say yes to whatever he asked.” Moore then went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University and has since received two honorary doctorate degrees.

After marrying and starting her family, Moore found herself as a young wife and mother navigating the details of life the best she could. Her love of stories and love for Jesus led her to lead Bible studies and speak at retreats. Moore was asked by those in her studies to develop homework to deepen their learning, and she soon realized that she had the content and the heart to begin a ministry. Moore founded Living Proof Ministries in 1994, just one year after self-publishing her first book, “Things Pondered.”

Now, with dozens of books and Bible studies published, Moore continues to travel the globe speaking to and encouraging women to study Scripture and walk with the Lord.
