However, while demons cannot possess Christians, demons can still impact the lives of believers. “Although we, as believers in Christ, cannot be demon possessed, we can be demon oppressed,” Stier said. “The Devil and his demons can attack, tempt and trick us if we are not consistently prayed up with our spiritual armor on (Ephesians 6:10-20.).”
It is essential that Christians prioritize their relationships with God, and Stier encouraged anyone who is not a follower of Jesus to become one. “So how do you become a Christian?” he asked. “You believe that Jesus, the Son of God himself, died in your place for your sins on the cross, and that he rose from the dead three days later. You place your trust in him alone to forgive you for your sins and give you eternal life (John 6:47.).”
“The moment you place your faith in Jesus you’re sealed with the Holy Spirit of God until the day of promise (Ephesians 1:13-14.),” Stier explained. “In that moment you become God’s possession and you can never be possessed by anything or anyone else, including the Devil. I beg you to make sure you are a true Christian right now. If not you are fair game to the forces of darkness.”
