Nevertheless, in the years since his father went to prison, Stroud has not only reconciled with his father but has also helped his family rise above the cycle of crime and poverty through his success as an athlete.
“So this is bigger than just ball. And if I have to use football for my purpose to spread the gospel and the life of Jesus Christ, then I’ll do that,” Stroud reflected while addressing the press on Sunday. “And I think that’s what God wants.”
“At the same time, I want to win too,” Stroud added with a chuckle. “So that’s why I keep fighting, man. I’m gonna keep fighting my tail off, man.”
