“I’ve got a lot of enemies out there,” he explained. “I’ve got drag queens who hate me. I’ve got leftists and progressives who think that I’m some Christian nationalist whack job that wants to shove religion down people’s throats.”

So Cameron shared that he is actively inviting atheists, progressives, leftists, and drag queens to sit down and have conversations with him.

“I genuinely want to see if we can’t find a way to discuss important issues like family values, the kinds of stories that we ought to read to our children, moral values, and how to move forward in our country,” he said, “so that there’s room for all, so we could find some common ground and solve some problems together.”

That doesn’t mean we comprise biblical truth, Cameron clarified. “We speak and live the truth without compromise, but we do it with a sincere love for people, including the ones who are most difficult for us to get along with. And with God’s help, we can do that.”

“[God is] calling us to love our enemies the way that he loves us,” Cameron added. “If truth is not married to the truth, it’s not love—it’s deception.”

Cameron shared that he is praying for revival, saying, “The world is influencing the church, maybe more than the church is influencing the world in America. My prayer is that the winds of revival would blow from heaven and turn things in the opposite direction.”

As a husband and father, Cameron said that revival must start in the home. “You and I have first got to turn our hearts and stop being prideful and humble ourselves and pray and turn from our wicked ways and reach out to love our enemies,” he said. “If you and I will do that as individuals and we teach that to our children, then I think we have hope for our nation.”

In addition to Cameron and BRAVE Books hosting more storybook-hour readings, they are working to set up something where Cameron can, like he said, actively invite atheists, progressives, leftists, and drag queens to sit down and have a conversation with him.

Cameron’s new book, along with other BRAVE Books titles, can be found here.
