Shock rocker Alice Cooper has been an example to Von D of how to be a Christian without compromising one’s calling and identity. After being criticized for her baptism, Von D googled Alice Cooper to find out how he responds in similar situations. She discovered through interviews that the rock star initially wondered if he should drop the Alice Cooper persona after finding Jesus, but he realized that God could use him to reach people who were drawn to it.

Von D said it has been more “meaningful and real” to come to Christianity as an adult versus when she simply went through the motions as a child because that was what was expected of her.
“I’m on fire for Jesus,” said Von D. “I don’t plan on this dimming out. The more and more I learn, the more and more excited I get about things and the more at ease I am about what’s happening in this world.”
