One person mourning the loss of Mwansa in a Facebook post described making the decision not to turn away from the “profound sadness” caused by his death:
I allowed myself to stare [at] the cold ugly unsavoury reality of a young, intelligent, vibrant, schooled and principled man, with a young bride desperately needing her groom’s support…a young man who was just settling into his element, just getting into his stride.
In the comments on one of Conrad Mbewe’s posts about his son’s death, a pastor from Rwanda said:
I remember well the first day I met this dearly loved brother at KBC. He greeted me with a smile and when I asked him whether ‘he was a pastor just like his father and older brother,’ he smiled and replied ‘I am just a normal guy here.’ He was truly a lovely brother.
