Foster conceded, “Yes, [the church] messes up. Yes, it makes mistakes. You’ll never find a perfect church.”
“But it’s a beautiful thing,” Foster said. “That’s what I want to spend my life building.”
Hundreds of encouraging comments can be found beneath the original TikTok post.
“I love when God takes the mundane (like making coffee) to reveal his glory,” one person wrote. “There is no love like his.”
Another said, “A beautiful story! There is meaning to be found in all acts of service and love.”
Later, Michael Wear, who is an author and the founder of the Center for Christianity and Public Life, posted the video to X (formerly Twitter).
“What an incredibly powerful video,” Wear wrote.
A number of other Christian leaders expressed their gratitude for Foster’s story.
Author and Bible teacher Beth Moore commented, “Made me cry. What a refreshing thing to see this advent season.”
“If you want to learn how to love someone, serve them,” wrote SBC pastor and Midwestern Seminary professor Jared C. Wilson.
