During the interview, Hallowell asked Tait about the biggest lesson God has taught him throughout his career. Tait said, “My dad told me as a kid—he goes, ‘Son, if you don’t mean it, don’t sing it’…I’ve learned just to stay true to who you are when you’re doing what you do.”
Tait added that he loves what he does. In fact, his exact words were, “I freaking love it.”
He went on to share about how he loves watching people’s faces light up with joy during his performances. Tait considers it a privilege to be used by God to share the message of hope to such a crazy world.
This June will mark 33 years since Tait entered the Christian music scene with DC Talk’s release of its self-titled album. This year also marks the 15th year of being Newsboys’ lead singer.
