Chris Jones

Since 2016, Chris Jones has played defensive tackle for the Chiefs, who drafted him out of Mississippi State. The 29-year-old is outspoken about his faith, often wearing an “I Am Second” wristband and sharing Scripture verses on social media.

In 2020, Jones told Sports Spectrum, “My faith is everything,” describing how he attended church from a young age. “Jesus means the Son of God,” Jones said. “The most perfect human being who sacrificed His life for us, so that right there means a lot, so our sins can be forgiven.”

After signing a four-year contract extension in 2020, Jones said, “I’m big into my faith, and making sure that whatever happens, God’s got me covered.”

Jones’ personality has made him a fan favorite in Kansas City. “I feel like that’s my call in this world—to inspire happiness,” he said in 2017. “That’s what I think life is all about.”
