Donald Trump Addresses Christian Communicators at NRB 2024

Despite an hour-plus late arrival, Donald Trump was met with thunderous applause, cheers, and a standing ovation when he took the stage.

Trump thanked many of the pastors and broadcasters by name in the audience, including Robert JeffressJack Graham, Kevin Roberts, Troy Miller, Sebastian Gorka, and pastor James Ward.

He then recognized the Christian communicators in the audience with uncharacteristic praise for members of the media. He referred to them as “brave, independent Christian journalists.” He also praised missionaries. “You go to the world’s most dangerous places,” Trump said. “I don’t know how you do it. You’re among the bravest people in the world and you do a job that nobody could do but you.”

“We’re going to save this country,” the former President said, after he praised the audience for the “incredible” work of communicating the Christian faith throughout America.

“Your institution was formed to give voice to an army of preachers and ministers and faith leaders who fought every day to strengthen America with the good news of the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ,” Trump said. “Today we are in another struggle for survival of our nation.” He then launched into a wide-ranging talk.

Alluding to nuclear weapons, Trump said he believes, “[this is] the most dangerous point in the history of our country because of the power of the weaponry.”

Casting his fellow American citizens as enemies, Trump said he believes that the “greatest threat is not from the outside of our country,” but from within. “It’s the people from within our country that are more dangerous than the people outside,” Trump repeated. “We can handle China. We can handle Russia. We can handle all of them if we have a smart leader, but the inside people are very dangerous. They’re very sick people in my opinion.”

He said, “I’m here today because I know that to achieve victory in this fight just the battles of the past, we still need the hand of our Lord and grace of Almighty God.”

Following in the similar vein of his campaign rallies, Trump made remarks about his recent indictments, election fraud, President Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Nikki Haley, Russia, China, the Keystone Pipeline, moving the embassy to Jerusalem, the Hamas attacks on Israel, the pandemic, abortion, education, homeschool tax credits, January 6th, CRT, gender ideology, and human trafficking among other topics.

Trump said, “Every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches just like every fascist regime has tried to co-opt them and control them, and in America, the radical left is trying to do both at the same time—it’s really dangerous, it’s really a bad thing.”

Trump added, “We don’t answer to bureaucrats” in Washington D.C. but to “God in heaven.”

“Today, I come before you today as a friend, an ally, and a fellow believer to ask for your help and your support and your prayers for this country,” Trump said. “We need your prayers most importantly.”
