“I mean, the list could go on and on and on of the atrocities that this guy has sat silent on and the things he’s chose to argue about,” Moore said. “So I believe that Brent Leatherwood should resign immediately.”

Moore Calls Preston Sprinkle a ‘Heretical Liar’

Last November, Theology in the Raw’s Preston Sprinkle invited Moore on his podcast to discuss why Moore called Sprinkle a “heretical liar.” Sprinkle accused Moore of misrepresenting his views on biblical sexuality. Moore had said Sprinkle was a “heretic” after author Dr. Rosaria Butterfield labeled Sprinkle as such during a convocation speech at Liberty University.

Sprinkle rarely engages with those who voice their opposition of his views on social media, but after Moore posted a summary of what he believes are heretical teachings by Sprinkle, the well-known author and podcaster asked Moore if he’d come on his podcast.

Moore’s list of Sprinkle’s “heresies” included:

Being gay is not sin, Being transgender is not sin, Gay Christians and transgender Christians can fully follow and honor God while being gay or transgender, the church can learn from gay Christians, the church can learn from transgender Christians, Christians do not have to repent of being gay or being transgender, gay can be good, transgender can be good.

Moore claimed that everything he posted came from “direct quotes and sources” by Sprinkle.

“Preston Sprinkle had me on his podcast to accuse me of lying. I did not lie, as the quotations and research shows,” Moore posted after his conversation with Sprinkle.

ChurchLeaders spoke with Moore after he appeared on Sprinkle’s podcast and asked what he felt was accomplished by the conversation.

“In my opinion, I think I did enough to expose him,” Moore said, sharing that he has received messages from people who listened to the podcast and said that they chose to leave a progressively minded church for one that preaches the Bible.

Moore added he believes anyone who listens to the conversation will hear how Sprinkle deflected questions regarding gender identity and the use of pronouns. Moore said that he was most surprised when Sprinkle “refused to answer the question whether homosexual orientation is masculine.”

“It’s a common sense question because masculinity is defined by the design of God,” Moore added. “Homosexual orientation is the opposite of biblical masculinity. There’s just no denying that, and he wouldn’t even he wouldn’t even answer that question.”
