After Swift released a surprise double-album last month, evangelist Shane Pruitt sounded the alarm about “self-worshipping” lyrics that include biblical imagery. Pruitt, who used to listen to Swift’s music, said he’s now reconsidering.
“LYRICS MATTER,” Pruitt wrote in an April 22 social media post. “There is a difference between being secular and being ANTI-CHRISTIAN.”
Pruitt pointed to profanity and questionable lyrics from Swift’s new 31-song album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which released April 19.
