“It was insightful, lovely, and funny. Everything I would expect from the two of you. Thank you,” said another.
Some even offered their own suggestions of who Brand should interview next.
“Jim Caviezal [sic] would be a very good guest to have, Russell!!” offered Bradley Productions.
Another person said, “Also consider interviewing Pastor Greg Laurie,” while pointing out that Roumie played Lonnie Frisbee, “a Jesus-like figure,” in “Jesus Revolution.” The 2023 movie tells the story of how Laurie came to faith and was a part of the Jesus Movement of the 1970s.
“Get John MacArthur,” suggested someone else.
Russell Brand Is Met With Criticism Along His Christian Journey
While many are supportive of Brand’s recent conversion and his being vulnerable to share his faith steps and questions publicly, the podcaster has received criticism.
One person offered, “You’ve been a Christian for 5 or 6 weeks…you might want to learn what being a Christian really is before you start preaching to people.”
“You need to be in a Bible study group also,” another said. “Remember this walk that you’re on is not about you.”
Others are suspicious of Brand’s new faith on the heels of sexual assault allegations from “numerous women” spanning several years. Brand has denied the “very, very serious criminal allegations.”
“The relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual. I was always transparent about that then. Almost too transparent, and I’m being transparent now,” said Brand.
