The Role of Doubt in Faith

Stuart Knechtle talked about the major role that doubt plays in Christianity, pointing to struggles of biblical figures such as David, Job, and Thomas.

Exploring the Concept of Hell and Eternal Separation

When Paul asked the pastors if people who don’t believe in Jesus go to hell, Cliffe Knechtle shared Scripture verses with him. “If I choose to reject Christ and live my life separate from him, I’m choosing to live my life separate from God,” Knechtle said, “based on my decision [I] will spend eternity separate from him.”

Paul pushed back by saying that belief “isolates such a large portion of the population” and seems intolerant. But Cliffe Knechtle said it’s a “truth claim” from Jesus, adding that “the legitimacy of faith is determined by the trustworthiness of the object of your faith,” not by passion.

Later in the podcast, the men discussed social issues including gay marriage and abortion. Other topics included whether animals go to heaven, what Jesus looked like, and the existence of aliens and UFOs.
