“I thought, well, that’s crazy, because if you know our family…we do everything fast,” Locke told the congregation. Eventually, Locke caught back up with his wife.

Locke thought, “What is this woman doing?” But Tai told him, “The Lord just told me to slow down.”

“When the Lord tells you to slow down, you better slow down,” Locke told the congregation. “I don’t care how strange it seems to anybody, and I don’t care how much they honk at you. Slow down.”

As the couple arrived at their home, which is located on the campus of Global Vision Bible Church, Locke said he saw what he believed to be broken glass bottles at the end of the driveway. It was only after he got out of his vehicle that he realized he was looking at empty shell casings.

“At that point, I didn’t know what had transpired…and how severe of a situation it was. So I’m thinking, ‘Well, I’m just going to call the police and just report it,’” Locke said. “Because we’ve had dead chickens put in my driveway, and we’ve had the vandalism of the pulpit and the platform and the various buildings and tents that we’ve been in. You know, we have people that show up here doing stupid stuff all the time.”

“Little did I know when I pulled up that a frenzy was going to be happening, and people were going to be shouting in the house,” Locke explained.

An emotional Locke said that the bullets traveled through the wall of his daughter’s bedroom and into the headboard of her bed. Bullets also hit his truck and garage.

“And we’re talking about from the bottom of the driveway all the way up through the back of the truck…the middle of the truck, out the front of the truck, through the garage door, all the way out the back of the garage into the fence at the very back of the property,” he said.

“So we’re not talking about a daisy B.B. gun,” Locke emphasized.

When the authorities arrived, they pulled up Locke’s security camera footage, which captured the cars involved, the shooter, and the driver. Locke said that the footage “shows you that it wasn’t me standing at the end of my driveway putting my family in jeopardy [by] pulling the trigger.” Locke said this is something he has been accused of on social media by some of his critics, adding, “People are stupid.”

Describing the footage, Locke said that after firing the rounds, the shooter got back in his or her vehicle and drove away roughly one minute before Locke’s wife pulled into the driveway.

“I came in a minute behind that,” Locke said.

Locke then played a short audio clip from the security footage, allowing the congregation to hear how many rounds were shot at the Lockes’ residence. He said, “I want to show you how one minute of obedience can change your life forever.”

“Sixty rounds in less than three seconds, 60 of them, the detective said he’d never seen that many spent shell casings in a drive-by shooting situation like this,” Locke added.

As he concluded, Locke praised the investigators and said his family has not been allowed back into the house, other than to gather some necessities, as authorities believe the assailant could return.

“People can make their assumptions, and people can say what they want to,” Locke said. “It doesn’t change anything other than we know God is good and that he that dwelleth in the shadow of the Almighty is protected by the Almighty. He protects his kids and protects all of you, and he’s going to protect this church.”
