Mohler Warns Men To Never Be Alone With a Woman Who Isn’t Their Wife
“I want to speak more bluntly than I have ever spoken this from this pulpit,” Mohler said. Quoting a mentor, he continued, “You will not have sex with a woman [who is] not your wife if you are never alone with a woman [who is] not your wife.”

“The moment we allow something to happen,” he said, “we expose ourselves to something that may be a temptation greater than we resist.”
“There’s certain protections we must put into place,” Mohler expressed. “The fall of a preacher in this sense does not invalidate the Word, but it does invalidate the ministry. And, the Scripture makes clear, brings disrepute.”
Mohler urged everyone to “pray for the church,” “all those involved,” and “for each other, lest we fall.”
“Every once in a while, it’s just good to look each other in the eye and say, let’s face what’s at stake here,” he said. “Let’s face the horror of it and the pain of it, and let’s be instructed by the horror and the pain of it.”
“The ministry has been entrusted to earthen vessels, but those earthen vessels are accountable, fully accountable, to the one who redeemed us and the one who called us,” Mohler said.
“We need to pray that the cause of the gospel would continue to the glory of Christ,” Mohler said as he concluded. “And that even in something like this, maybe especially in something like this, it is the power of the gospel that is shown to reflect God’s glory in such a way that even the fall of one who preached it cannot invalidate it, but does bring much grief and humbles us.”
