Trinity Parish, one of St. Augustine’s oldest churches, has about 450 weekly worshipers. In his bio on the church website, Marino describes himself as “an adolescent atheist turned Episcopal priest” who likes to drink coffee and “talk about Jesus.”

In an interview last year, Marino talked to the Episcopal News Service about planned expansion in the fast-growing area. “We just think that what we have to offer as The Episcopal Church is really of value,” the pastor said. “There’s no place for all of these people moving here to hear the good news of Jesus presented in a liturgical and sacramental way that’s connected to the world they live in.”
